Fly bar or wall mountable

Fly bar or wall mountable

LumiNode 2 is specifically designed with an all-metal, robust enclosure, to mount on a fly bar or a wall, making it an ideal solution for theatre- and studio AV installs or for use at live performances.

Equipped with 2x 1Gb Ethercon ports and 2x 5-pin DMX ports LumiNode 2 offers flexibility in a small package. Each DMX port is fully optically and galvanically isolated and can be configured as an in- or output. All relevant industry-standard protocols such as Art-Net, sACN, KiNET, RTTRpl (Blacktrax) are supported and can be processed and converted by the 4 onboard process engines supporting HTP, LTP, Crossfade, Backup, Switch, and Custom merging modes with soft patch functionality.

The LumiNode family is fully DMX/RDM compatible. LumiNet Monitor and other third-party RDM software or lighting consoles (supporting ArtNet RDM) can make use of the full RDM functionality.

Intuitive UI

The built-in web UI delivers a great user experience.

Process engines can be easily configured in a very intuitive workflow. Just decide what you like to do with your lighting data by choosing the mode of the process engine.

Depending on the chosen merging/routing policy of the engine, the UI presents the possible input configuration. From here you just connect your input streams and your output connections.

Everything can be easily stored and recalled into profiles for later usage.

Advanced networking

Use the full capacity of the Gigabit connectivity by sending different data in a different Group (VLAN). Setup a separate interface for IT monitoring without interfering with critical lighting data.

The known Group (VLAN) technology from GigaCore switches is also available in the LumiNode product family. This allows you to freely assign a different Group (VLAN) to the different network connectors and to the node's interfaces.

ISL (Inter-Switch Link) and custom trunks are available to transfer different VLANs on one ethernet connection.Advanced networking

Play & contact closure

Play allows you to record snapshots of all your output streams in a show as a queue list with fade times. This show can later be used as an input source for a process engine.

The external contact closure can be configured as a trigger on the network and be used as any other trigger source to control the playback of the recorded queue list.

Integration with web API

LumiNode features a fully documented web API, making the unit ideal for integration and automation in installation projects.

All configuration or manipulation (like recalling profiles, configuring engines, triggering play,...) can be done via web API (REST/JSON). Offering the maximum flexibility to integrate with any other hardware or software to control your infrastructure.

Today

LuminNode product family is built for today's connectivity needs, like converting network protocols to DMX/RDM outputs meanwhile merging and routing different sources together.

Today's converters' limitations are the amount of DMX connectors on the unit and what you like to do with these. LumiNode features a vast amount of merging and routing process engines beyond the amount of DMX ports, allowing you to decide what you like to achieve with the incoming data rather than what you are allowed to do with a DMX port only.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow's lighting rigs are and will be ever more Ethernet connected and LumiNode will make sure that all different controls can talk with different fixtures. For this reason, Luminex introduced the concept of process engines.

Process engines let you define what you like or need to do with incoming data streams from different controls, protocols, or even internal sources. And allows you to choose what output needs to be generated out of it. This can be a variety of different lighting control protocols and not necessarily a DMX/RDM output.

The output of a process engine can even serve multiple DMX/RDM ports and network protocols at once.

Future proof

The LumiNode product family offers more process engines than physical DMX connectors. Meaning your investment scales with the ever-growing need for more network-connected data and is still able to do what you need today.
